Survey Says… Monkey!
Launched in the distant dot-com era of 1999, SurveyMonkey has grown to be the self-proclaimed “world’s leading provider of web-based survey solutions.” Considering that there isn’t much competition — Zoomerang and the lovely bare-bones Google Docs come to mind — I imagine the claim is true, but we’re not here to debate the merits of facts stated in About Us pages. Last month SurveyMonkey introduced a new logo. Unfortunately I have no more information nor any more images to share

Unfortunately I have no more information nor any more images to share. But when it comes to monkey business like this, I think we can get straight to the point without monkeying around. Old: cartoonish and unprofessional. New: Minimalist and professional. To expand a little further, I do think there is something genuinely nice and effective about the new icon: it’s simple, it’s cute, it forms a letter “M” and it’s green, which goes surprisingly against all monkey standards. The typography is a little dull and feels out of place; with that little thing sticking out of the “k” being a too distracting. Where is Gotham when you need it?
Thanks to Ryan Arhart for the tip.
